well we've had a very wet Spring.
September:
243.9mm
21 rain days
October:
283.9mm
21 rain days

I equaled my previous consecutive wet period record in September, to then break it (and counting) in October.
I'll post it here when main rain record stops being broken.

It's also been cold.
October 2011 - 4 days with a high under 16°C.
October 2012 - 3 days with a high over 16°C.

Yes, for Waitakere we've dipped to our lowest humidity too, just 25% for a dew point of -2.7°C, which is again a record low for here.
Currently 17.7°C and 25% outside.

Yesterday's major storm that came through West Auckland missed us as far as the damaging wind was concerned, but we had rain of biblical proportion that caused significant flooding in the valley.  No problems occurred for us (fortunately) other than a fair bit of the metal on our driveway scoured and washed down the slope requiring some effort to shovel it up and redistribute it.

Anyway, my record rain rate and hourly totals have been eclipsed.

One hour rain total is 31.2 mm (approx 30 mm of it actually came down in around 30 minutes)
Maximum rain rate of 576 mm/hr recorded
