Every day now I see the green light flashing, as another rainless day is added to my station's All Time Records. This total is now up to 23 days since last recorded rainfall, the longest such period since I started recording on 1 Jan 2002....

In the six months from beginning Sept to end Feb, I have received a total of 131.8mm of rainfall. The totals NIWA 40yr means for those months is 334.1mm. By my maths, this works out to be 39% of normal.

Attached is a graph showing the actual rainfall recorded vs the means - stark contrasts... :o :o

West Melton

We have had 39 days of no rain but have included 4 days where we had heavy dew of 0.2mm each day in this total so dont know if I can really lay claim to the 39 days.
