Auckland, Waikato, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine, some high cloud in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay.

Waitomo to Manawatu, including the Central Plateau
Fine at first, but a few showers developing from afternoon.

Wellington, Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa
Fine. Strong gusty northwesterlies.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine, apart from a few showers in Nelson and western Marlborough around middle of the day.

Buller
A few showers, turning to rain for a time around middle of the day.

Westland, Fiordland
Showers, some heavy. Thunderstorms possible early morning and again in Westland this evening.

Southland and Otago
Fine inland. Showers near Foveaux Strait, with westerly gales until afternoon. Showers spreading to inland Southland and eastern Otago this evening.

Chatham Islands
Fine.
