Slump on road near Gisborne

There's been a large slump in the road, near Gisborne.

It is happened on Tiniroto Road near the Gentle Annie lookout.

NZTA says half of the road has slumped and the other half is undermined, making the road dangerous and unusable for all road users.

That means people who need to access the settlements of Tiniroto, Hangaroa and Waerenga-o-Kuri will need to travel the long way to Wairoa, through Frasertown and back to Tiniroto.
