Flooding hits Northland
Photos are now coming in from Northland as torrential rain today continues to lead to significant flooding.  Worst hit has been Kaeo - a small Northland town that is no stranger to flood events, lying at sea level in a valley next to a river.

Why do we continue to build and rebuild infrastructure, houses and even towns in areas that flood regularly?  And not just in NZ either but Globally!
