Gisborne
Showers developing this morning.

Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, Kapiti and Wellington
Rain developing this morning, with some heavy falls. Snow lowering to 300 metres about Wellington and Wairarapa this evening, and 600 metres elsewhere, affecting higher roads.

Marlborough
Showers, clearing inland this morning. Snow lowering to 200 metres in the evening.

Nelson, Buller and Westland
Showers, with snow to 400 metres, clearing during the morning.

Canterbury and North Otago
Mainly fine. Sleet or snow showers developing about the coast and North Canterbury this evening.

Central Otago, Dunedin, Clutha, Southland and Fiordland
Occasional sleet or snow showers, but long fine spells about northern Fiordland and Central Otago.
