Fine at first. Scattered rain developing this evening.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury
Fine at first apart from rain about the Alps. Scattered rain elsewhere, clearing from the south this evening.

Buller
Rain with heavy falls, easing to showers this afternoon then clearing.

Westland, Fiordland
Rain with heavy falls, clearing late morning but a few sleety showers remain in Fiordland.

Southland and Otago
Scattered showers with snow to 200 metres in Southland and 400 metres in Clutha, clearing this evening.

Chatham Islands
A few morning showers then rain tonight.
