North of Taranaki to Taupo and the Bay of Plenty northwards
Fine weather.

South of Taranaki and Taihape to Horowhenua Kapiti Coast
Cloudy periods and a few showers about south Taranaki and the central high country, with snow above 400 metres. Showers becoming isolated later today.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Wellington
Showers, with snow above about 400 metres. Strong cold southerlies.

Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Fine.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine inland, but sleety showers near the coast north of Ashburton and snow above 200 metres, clearing this morning.

Southland and Otago
Fine, with severe morning frost.

Chatham Islands
Showers with strong cold southwesterlies.
