Rain, with heavy falls and gale northwesterlies developing this morning.

Nelson, Buller and Westland
Rain, with heavy falls in the west. Rain clearing in Nelson in the evening and easing elsewhere.

Canterbury and Otago
Rain with snow to low levels, heavy inland, clearing in Canterbury and easing in Otago this morning.

Fiordland and Southland
Rain at times, with snow to 200m at first, and the snow levels gradually rising.
