Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel Peninsula
Showers, some heavy with hail.

Bay of Plenty
A few showers clearing this morning.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine, but morning showers, with snow to 400 metres in Hawkes Bay and 700 metres in Gisborne.

Taupo and Wanganui to Wellington, including Wairarapa and Marlborough
Showers, with snow to 300 metres, clearing early morning. Showers returning north of Manawatu late morning.

Nelson
Fine.

Canterbury
Showers with snow to 400 metres, becoming confined to Banks Peninsula tonight, with snow lowering to 200 metres there, and severe southwest gales.

Buller, Westland
Showers north of Greymouth, but fine elsewhere.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Snow showers with hail and possible thunderstorms. Significant snow accumulations above 200 metres and severe southwest gales.
