SNOW and cold weather couldn’t stop Hobartians getting out and having fun.

A picture of a Tasmanian father-daughter surfing duo’s morning paddle from a snow-covered beach has “gone viral”.

It was one of the thousands of photographs of buzzing around social media today as gleeful Tasmanians posted pics of the snow that covered the state.

None of the other excellent pictures however quite reached the social media heights of that of 17-year-old Tabbi Fasnacht, taken by her father Pat Fasnacht.

“It’s gone viral, it’s crazy,” Tabbi said.

“Dad woke me up at 6am to check the surf.

“The whole beach was just covered in snow. You couldn’t see the sand.

“Everything was white – the landscape above the beach, the bushes, even the wax on our boards had iced over.”
