A few showers. Fine spells increasing.

Waikato to Manawatu, including the central high country, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mainly fine. However, a few showers about Taranaki this morning, and isolated afternoon showers about Waikato and Taupo.

Horowhenua Kapiti Coast and Wellington
Cloudy periods and a few showers.

Nelson and Marlborough
Fine, with high cloud. A few spots of rain developing about the western ranges of Nelson this afternoon.

Canterbury
Cloudy increasing, with occasional rain spreading north.

Otago and Southland
Mostly cloudy. Occasional rain developing this morning.

Buller and northern Westland
Cloud and scattered rain developing by evening.

Southern Westland and Fiordland
Rain spreading north, heavy for a time.
