Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
A few showers, some heavy before dawn, clearing Auckland this morning.

Waikato to Wellington, also Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Occasional rain, with some heavy and possibly thundery falls, clearing this morning then mainly fine. The odd shower about western Bay of Plenty this evening.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Showers, clearing this afternoon and becoming fine.

Wairarapa, also Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Showers, clearing this morning then mainly fine. Isolated evening showers about Nelson.

Otago and Southland
Cloudy periods and isolated showers, clearing most places this morning but a few showers lingering about the south coast.

Buller and Westland
Mainly fine, but isolated showers about Buller and a few showers elsewhere this evening.

Fiordland
Mainly fine at first, but rain developing this evening.

Chatham Islands
Showers, clearing this afternoon.



Sunday
North Island, mainly fine. A few showers from Taranaki to Wellington spreading further north in the evening. Northwesterlies rising to gale about Wellington. South Island, thundery rain spreading up western areas and a period of rain in the south. High cloud elsewhere. Hail later in the south along with snow lowering to 500 metres in Fiordland.
