South Africa vs Sri Lanka
Bangladesh vs India
Australia vs Pakistan
New Zealand vs West Indies

Yes - I know - too lazy to bold anything to the right hand side of the equation! That Bangladesh game will be interesting, and I think the Australians will win, but  bouyed on by their home team advantage

Thanks
Cheers, Andrew

Three rather one sided matches so far.

QF1 -  South Africa vs Sri Lanka - 18 March at Sydney
Sri Lanka won the toss & decided to bat, unfortunately they didn't bring their A game! All out for 133 in the 38th over.
South Africa mopped that up in 18 overs for the loss of 1 wicket.
An easy win to South Africa.

Match    1st Quarter-Final: South Africa v Sri Lanka at Sydney, Mar 18, 2015 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

QF2 -  Bangladesh vs India - 19 March at Melbourne
India won the toss & decided to bat. A solid innings, amassing 302 for 6 with Sharma making 137 & Raina 65.
Bangladesh struggled in their reply, most of the top/middle order getting a start but the regular loss of wickets told in the end. Top score was 35.
So, all out for 193 in the 45th over & a comfortable win to India.

Match    2nd Quarter-Final: Bangladesh v India at Melbourne, Mar 19, 2015 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

QF3 -  Australia vs Pakistan - 20 March at Adelaide
Pakistan won the toss & chose to bat. With a slow start the pressure mounted through their innings.
Again, most of the top/middle order got a start but couldn't press on. Top score was 41.
They were finally dismissed for 213 in the last over.
Aussie in reply were relatively untroubled in reaching the target in the 34th over for 4 down.
Smith & Watson made 60's & Maxwell a quickfire 44.
A comfortable win to the Aussies.

Match    3rd Quarter-Final: Australia v Pakistan at Adelaide, Mar 20, 2015 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

So, that's the preliminaries out of the way, the big game to come at Wellington.
The NZ vs West Indies game is set to kick off at 2pm today at the cake tin.
The weather is looking good if a tad breezy.
Go Black Caps

and just to keep the symmetry, another one sided match  :D

QF4 -  New Zealand vs West Indies - 21 March at Wellington

So Baz McCullum won the toss and the Black Caps were batting first.
Guptill was dropped off the 3rd ball, but a bit of a tough chance by the sounds of it.
He got most of the early strike & made a measured start, & Baz was out caught to a great catch by Holder in the 4th over for 12.
So . .  game on.
Mean while Guppie kept on going, & going - a bit like the energizer bunny ?? Here's how he went . . .
50 off 64 balls, over 20
100  off 111 balls, over 35
150 off 135 balls, over 41
200 off 152 balls, over 48
237 at the close & not out to boot!! Wow !!

The first fact that stands out for me about his innings was this, 99% of his shots were clean normal cricket shots, played with great timing, none of the bludgeoning agricultural stuff that has crept into the game lately.

The second is that it was almost chanceless, there was a catch put down early, 1 LBW appeal I think & there was an incident about a double hit.

Other scores worth a mention, Williamson 33 & Taylor 42 & the Black Caps amassing 393 for 6.

In reply the West Indies, lost wickets far too regularly which told in the end. All out in the 31st for 250.
Top score was Gayle with 61 & Holder managed 42.
Boult claimed 4 scalps & Southee & Vettori 2 each.

So, a cracking victory for the Black Caps, & the semi finalists have now been found.
Any takers for Sir Martin, or Lord Guppie ??
