Fine at first. Scattered afternoon and evening showers, some heavy, with possible thunderstorms for inland Canterbury.

Nelson and Buller
Mainly fine, but isolated showers this afternoon and evening.

Westland and Fiordland
Rain in Fiordland spreading north this morning, with some heavy falls and possible thunderstorms, then clearing from the south this evening.

Otago and Southland
Cloudy periods, with scattered showers, some heavy about eastern Otago this afternoon.
