Not a bad looking day a head for Christmas in New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
Cloudy periods. Isolated morning showers north of Warkworth. Fine spells this afternoon.

Bay of Plenty
Cloudy, with patchy morning drizzle inland. Becoming fine this afternoon.

Waikato to Kapiti, also the central high country and Gisborne to Wairarapa
Fine, apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers mainly about the ranges, possibly thundery about the Central Plateau.

Wellington
Morning cloud and patchy drizzle in the north, then fine this afternoon.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago.
Mainly fine, with isolated afternoon and evening showers about the ranges, possibly thundery north of Arthurs Pass. Low cloud about coastal Otago and Canterbury this morning and evening.

Southland
Morning cloud, then fine.

Buller and Westland
Scattered morning showers north of Hokitika. Mainly fine further south, but scattered rain developing this evening.

Fiordland
Patchy light rain.

Chatham Islands
Fine.
