Mostly cloudy with a few showers. However, showers clearing in Auckland south of about Orewa this morning, and fine spells developing.

Waikato and Bay of Plenty
Becoming fine. Remaining patches of rain clearing this morning.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Rain easing this morning, and becoming mainly confined to the ranges with fine breaks developing elsewhere.

Waitomo to Wellington, including the central high country, and Wairarapa
Mainly fine. A few cloudy periods about Wairarapa, and areas of morning cloud about Taupo and Taihape.

For all the South Island
Fine, apart from areas of morning cloud.

Chatham Islands
Fine spells.
