Showers in Wellington and Wairarapa, spreading elsewhere during the course of the day. Isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, with hail.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered showers, some heavy with hail, easing this evening. Snow to 700 metres in Canterbury.

Buller and Westland
Fine apart from a few showers north of Hokitika, some heavy with hail.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showers with hail, especially in the south, and snow to 400 metres. Showers becoming isolated this morning and fine spells increasing.

Chatham Islands
A few showers.
