Northland
Cloudy periods with isolated showers developing this morning.

Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Cloudy periods and isolated showers turning to rain this afternoon or evening.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Rain developing in Hawkes Bay this morning, spreading to Gisborne by evening.

Waikato to Wellington, including the central high country and Wairarapa
Rain spreading north this morning, with some heavy falls, especially about the ranges, clearing south Wanganui later.

Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and northern Westland
Rain, heavy for a time in the west, easing to isolated showers this morning and becoming confined to the ranges. Some showers possibly heavy this afternoon.

Southern Westland and Fiordland
Mostly fine.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Scattered showers, clearing from the south, but isolated showers lingering in Canterbury until late evening.

Chatham Islands
Rain followed by showers and cold southwesterlies.
