Wellington and Wairarapa
Cloudy, with rain developing about the Tararua Range later.

Nelson and Marlborough
Fine at first. Rain developing about the western ranges of Nelson late afternoon, becoming heavy there tonight, with scattered falls spreading further east.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain with some heavy falls, spreading north reaching Buller by evening, and clearing south of the Glaciers.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Cloudy with scattered showers.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, with a few late showers.
