Northland to Manawatu, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Taihape
Fine, with cloud increasing in the west this evening.

Gisborne to Wairarapa, also Kapiti and Wellington
Any remaining showers clearing and becoming fine this morning. Southerly gales in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay, severe in some areas, easing by dawn.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Cloudy in Fiordland with occasional rain. Fine further north at first, then cloud increasing with patchy drizzle developing from late morning.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Long fine spells.

Otago and Southland
Fine at first. Cloud increasing this morning, with scattered rain developing in Southland and south Otago, becoming confined to the coast this evening.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy, with rain and strong southwesterlies developing from late afternoon.
