A few showers, turning to rain for a time this morning.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa
Mostly fine, however a few brief falls of rain spreading off the ranges this morning, and some heavy falls about the Tararua Range.

Wanganui to Wellington
A period of rain overnight, easing to showers early morning, more frequent and possibly heavy from Kapiti northwards.

Buller, Westland, Fiordland
Periods of rain, with heavy falls, and possible thunderstorms about Fiordland and Westland. Rain easing to showers in Fiordland this morning, then clearing late.

Nelson, Marlborough
Rain becoming confined to the Nelson ranges by early morning, with brief rain elsewhere during the afternoon and evening.

Canterbury, Otago, Southland
Isolated showers.

Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy. A period of rain during the day.
