Us retired blokes with idle time on our hands..........
I did a bit of analysis of the bonus numbers that came up during the 16 weeks the game ran.
* 8 out of the 16 weeks the bonus number was 10 or below (10,8,5,4,5,9,6,2).
* Only 1 number came up between 30 and 40 (38)
* 4 were between 10 and 20 (11,15,17)
* 3 were between 20 and 30 (22,23,27)
My strategy was to cover a block with the 3 numbers. If I chose 2,5 and 8 that would guarantee points if the bonus number was 1-9. The thinking was that I had just over 1 in 4 odds in choosing the right block of numbers. I'd have been quids in if I'd picked those numbers in this game. Probably the odds are the same picking 3 random numbers out the 40, (I'm no mathemetician), but it is interesting looking at the statistics of chance.
cheers
