Rain over southern and central New Zealand starts the week plus as the front progresses north over the country, there is a moderate probability that strong northwesterly winds ahead of it could reach severe gale in exposed places of Southland, Otago, Canterbury, Marlborough, Wellington and Wairarapa.

High cloud cover with a brisk west to SW wind. Temperature 18.8° after a low of 15.2° and heading for a high of around 20°. Wind speed average is about 13kmh with the strongest gust in the last hour at 27.3kph. No rain over the past 24hrs.
