A low is moving east over the North Island today (Wednesday), with the rain and snow easing over the upper South Island.
Rain and snow is easing over Canterbury and southern Marlborough and is expected to clear during the afternoon. A further 2 to 3cm of snow is likely to settle above 400 metres until mid-afternoon today (Wednesday), but no further significant accumulations are expected and the warning has been lifted.
In addition, the rain has eased about northwest Nelson and the warning has been lifted.
