Sunday, Sept 1
Toronto / Pickering, Canada
Hi All,
For those who've watched the famous Schwazenegger movies, I should have posted a message when my weather station went in the storage box on April 30:
"
I'll BE BACK"...

My weather station is still "in-the-box" but there's light at the end of the tunnel in regards to having an opportunity to (re) install it within the next 3-4 weeks.
On a long weekend like this (Labourday) which in Canada is seen as the "
unofficial end of the summer" when on Tuesday the schools are starting, I thought it to be a good (re) start to add my weather blurb to the Forum in New Zealand where most likely everybody is ready to gear-up for Spring???

Well, even in Toronto we've had weather this summer, although it wasn't the scorcher we had last year.
Kind of a Jo-Jo summer with (many) days of Rain changed into very Hot and Humid days, but interestingly we had a long stretch of "below-normal" temperatures. The Average Temperature in Toronto for July & August is 27 C, and we saw (felt) many days of 23 tot 25 C, however with plenty of sunshine and reasonable humidity levels.
Not the high number of days with 30+ C as seen last year when 2012 was registered as the hottest summer on record.
This year some days with a humidex of 45 C and on the other hand above normal precipitation....!!
The month of July saw the HIGHEST rainfall EVER recorded, due to some torrential downpours which flooded a great part of the Toronto area in July (record rainfall in 1 day: 126mm which was recorded in only a few hours...!!!!!)
Currently we're getting ready for Fall

....., although it's one of the most spectecular seasons when in a month or so the trees are changing into a caleidoscope of red, yellow and purple colours..!!!
Nevertheless, we're still enjoying day temperatures of mid-twenties with cooler nights..
Current Conditions at 9:30AM:Temp: 18 C (Days high 25 C)
Humidity: 88%
Humidex: 22 C
Precip: 0 mm
UV Index: 6 -7
Wind: 13 km/h E
Baro: 1011 mb
Last but not least:When I had to sell my house in March, by the end of April all belongings "disappeared' in a storage container which will be unpacked on Friday, Sept 6th.
It might take a few weeks to get settled and to find a decent place for my weather station sensors (I'll move into an apartment building ( 4 stories) but my unit will be on the 3rd, so close to the flat roof. i hope to convince the maintenance crew that a Live Weather update from the apartment building is feasible,
when they allow me to install the sensors on te roof

.
Good for an un-obstructed wind measurement.
In the mean time my weather website has been operational with several new (page) additions.
I recently entered the Real-Time data pages again, to make it all complete and ready to go "Live"

I'll keep you posted!!
Enjoy the first week of September,
Cheers,
Arthur
