Office block signifies a fresh start for city

This I find a little hard to read owing to being a 13 storey building and based on expectations of businesses in Auckland and Wellington. Also mentioned it MIGHT have deep piles - I do not know if the reporter has taken this out of context or not but would think it would be natural to have deep piles. They also have to have the tenants to go into a building of this height as well as the staff that are required to work there. Most people that I have heard talking and spoken to will not work in building over two storeys or four at the max. Business going back into the the city has dropped by a 1/4 as to who will return to the city. A lot of businesses are on the fringe of the city like Moorhouse Avenues or out the Airport way or Addington where the land is more stable - even our Accountant is at the Antarctic Centre not far from the Penguins.
In the city plan most buildings are to be much lower than those that were existing before the quakes.
I have also noted in my travels that their are a lot of houses being built now that have metal frames. Oh well time will tell.

Learnt today that if the original building was 13 stories high prior to the quake - they are entitled to rebuild a 13 one again.
