New Zealand sits in a no mans land of weather systems today with a depression off to the east and areas of high pressure to the north and west. Still, western areas of both islands will recieve a bit of the wet stuff as will the far south and perhaps eastern parts of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland & Waikato
Mostly sunny with some cloud at times mainly in the west, southwesterlies tend more westerly by evening.
Highs: 16-17

Central North Island, Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light southwesterly winds, some evening cloud develops. Some rain overnight also although mainly about the Central North Island.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island
Early showers clear about Gisborne otherwise mostly sunny, some high cloud develops in the afternoon then in the evening southwesterlies pick up a little bringing the risk of a few showers.
High: 16-17

Western North Island
Morning sunny spells however becoming cloudy by midday with westerly breezes. Some rain develops in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington
Sunny areas and some high cloud, northerly breezes. Winds change southerly in the evening and there may be a shower or two develop around this time then clearing overnight.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson
Mainly sunny after any morning cloud clears, light winds.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury
Sunny at first then winds change southwest late morning bringing some cloud and the risk of the odd shower for the rest of the day.
High: 13

West Coast
Showers in the morning then clearing during the afternoon with perhaps the odd sunny break making its way through, winds mainly light.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Winds change southerly in the morning bringing cloudy periods and the odd shower which clear for most by evening however the odd shower may remain about the Southland coastline.
Highs: 9-10
