Weather Watch from the Metservice
A moist easterly flow is developing over the east coast of the North Island.

Although the Warning for heavy rain in Gisborne today has been cancelled, a Watch will be maintained for the possibility of rainfall accumulations reaching warning criteria there on Tuesday.

Periods of rain are likely in Hawkes Bay today and possibly into Tuesday, with some heavy falls. This Watch is also for the possibility that rainfall accumulations could approach warning amounts in Hawkes Bay, especially about the hills and ranges.

Note, the Watch for Bay of Plenty is lifted as showers there are localised.
