State of emergency declared in northern Mexico

Mexico’s government today declared a state of emergency for 25 municipalities in the northern state of Zacatecas because of a heavy snowfall.
 
The snowfall came as a result of temperatures as much as 11 degrees below zero in that area of ​​the country, the agency said in a statement.
 
The state of emergency was declared for the municipalities of Calera, Morelos, Chalchihuites, Concepcion del Oro, El Salvador, Fresnillo, Genaro Codina, Guadalupe Jimenez of Teul, Juan Aldama, Mazapil, Miguel Auza, Melchor Ocampo, Noria de Angeles, General Panfilo Natera, Panuco, Pinos, Susticacán, Trancoso, Valparaiso, Vetagrande, Villa Garcia Villa Gonzalez Ortega, Villa Hidalgo and Zacatecas.
