Port Robinson, North Canterbury 8.25am

Mainly fine with cloud burning off. 2.2mm of rain since midnight to go with the 4.6mm earlier overnight which should give the paddocks a bit of a drink. Temperature 10.8° after a low of 9.8°. Predicted high is around 20°. Light SW breeze 2-3kph.

Toronto / Pickering - Canada
Monday March 4 2013 @ 3:00PM

Fierce battle between The Sun and persistent Clouds.......  >:(
The winner: The Sun  :)

Currently a Mix of Sun and Clouds.
Temp: - 0.7 C
Apparent Temp: - 7 C
Windy: Gusts 35 up to 40 km/h and make the 'feels-like' temperature drop significantly..!!
Baro: 1014 mb
UV Index: 3 to 5 (yes it's getting up quickly!!!)
Precipitation: None (not even snow flurries from the Lake Effect!!)

Great Forecast for the end of the week  :)
We're going up to  a Day-High temperature of + 6 C.............
Still too early for sunscreen and bathing suits, but, it's only 17-days to Spring!!!!

Many people are already in the "WE DID IT - WE SURVIVED THE WINTER" - mode, however I keep the famous saying in mind:
"March comes in like a Lamb, but exits like a Lion.."  :)
Why????.....Statistically, March gives the most Snow and it ain't over (yet)....!!!!!

Cheers,

Arthur

Tom, you may have seen most of it before from my comments here, but FWIW here is a comment by a poster claming NP sun records, and my response including a general comment about the disorganised state of sun measurement in NZ (not unique to this country, though).
