Long sunny periods here today but some cloud at times too. Very warm with a low of 17.8 rising to a high of 26.6. E to NE breezes.

According to TV3 weather, Auckland's 27C max was the national top temp, which is pretty unusual!

New Plymouth: warm, humid, sunny- not my sort of day. 26 reported on TV, 25 to 28 degrees on the Regional Council stations that ring the city and airport.
