This display has now opened and was standing room only with arms at sides - it was absolutely packed. They have talks about Earthquakes - why Canterbury - liquefaction etc. With info supplied from the University and GNS Science.
Also stories are told by 15 people about the quake 6.3 quake at 12.51pm on the February 2011 and how it affected them.
On display they have the ball of the Time Ball Machine at Lyttelton which was only one of five in the world and had been restored and now fallen down.
The Cathedral Spire which is 6 m high - which has also had a history of falling down in previous quakes.
Godley Statue which fell down that was in the square and weighs 4 tons.
Broken pieces of the bells of Christchurch Cathedral.
A Chalice from the Catholic Cathedral - which had been previously stolen in the turmoil here after the quakes.
This exhibition was done over a period of 4 to 5 months which they must have worked very hard to achieve this in that period of time.
This was related to me by my neighbor who had visited the museum and reports on the radio say that it was like being in the middle of a very busy railway station at peak time with people everywhere.
