Heavy snowfall: trains and flights delayed.( Stockholm)
« on: December 06, 2012, 08:29:08 PM »
Heavy snowfall in Stockholm is stopping flights to and from Gothenburg. Train services between the cities are also heavily delayed.

According to Landvetter Airport’s website some flights between Gothenburg and Stockholm airports Arlanda and Bromma have been cancelled. It is recommended that passengers contact their airlines.

”We have a serious situation here in Stockholm. We expect major problems during the day,” says Klas Nilsson, press manager at Swedavia, to Göteborgs-Posten.

Between 50,000 and 60,000 passengers are expected to be affected by the problems at Arlanda and Bromma airports.

Train services have also been affected by the heavy snowfall. On Wednesday morning some services between Stockholm and Gothenburg were delayed by around two hours. Some delays are also expected during the afternoon, according to train company SJ.
