Deadly Earthquake Iran
-Death toll has risen to 350. More than 1500 people injured.
-Almost 16,000 people are given emergency shelter.
-Ay least 45 killed in the city of Ahar and 500 of the injured.
-60 villages sustained 50-70% damage, 6 villages 100% destroyed in Northwestern Iran. Earthquake caused more than 800 billion rials damage to rural places.
-More than 20 moderate aftershocks recorded.

Wildfires in Canary Islands, Spain
-More than 5000 evacuated from wildfires on Spanish Canary islands of Tenerife and La Gomera.
-About 3000 hectares of land burned in La Gomera including about a tenth of the Garajonay nature reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
-According to the agriculture ministry, wildfires have destroyed 130,830 hectares of vegetation in Spain Between January 1 and July 29.



Wildfire at Arizona-Utah border
-A lightning-caused wildfire in far northwestern Arizona near the Utah border has burned 1,000 acres.
-Fire is burning on the Arizona Strip District management area about 8 miles southeast of Fredonia.

Ongoing Major River Floods
Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins), China (River Mekong, River Yangtze, River Xi Jiang and River Brahmaputra), Colombia (River Japura and River Magdelena), Democratic Republic of the Congo (River Lukaga), Guyana, Madagascar, Mexico, New Zealand and Sudan (River White Nile).

Flash floods in Manila, Philippines
-Death toll from Manila floods climbs to 85. Among the casualties, 12 were killed in landslide, 62 died due to drowning, and the others died either by lightning, falling trees or electrocution.
-More than 3 million people in 16 provinces were affected by the worst flood since 2009. Of the total number, 768,989 are still living in various concentration centres.
-The total cost of damages to infrastructure and agriculture was estimated at 604 million pesos (14.46 million U.S. dollars).

Flash floods in Sudan, North Africa
-Death toll from Sudan floods has risen to 32. Flood destroyed more than 4,700 homes.
-Recent floods have affected at least 1,000 families in eastern Sudan and 14,000 people in the far-west region of Darfur.

Flash floods in Qinghai ,China
-Four killed and one missing in flash floods in Qinghai province of China.
-Moderate to heavy rains are expected to fall on parts of Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Yunnan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei and Hunan provinces as well as Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Heavy flooding in Thai-Myanmar Border
-Heavy flooding closed the harbours along the Moei River.
-Cross border trade between Thailand and Myanmar hampered due to recent flooding.
-More than 10 villages on the Thai side are reported to be flooded. Floodwater of over one metre has inundated both the Thai and the Myanmar border.
-Several houses and cars on the Myawaddy side are heavily damaged by the floods.
-The Moei River is a tributary of the Salween River which originates in Phop Phra district, Tak Province and forms the natural border line between Thailand and Burma.

Landslip in Black Sea province -Turkey
-Heavy rainfall caused landslips in the Black Sea province of Rize.
-Some four tons of gasoline leaked following a landslip at a gas station in the Kalkandere district of Rize.
-Damages of 250,000 Turkish Liras expected.
-Sixteen houses were evacuated due to possible flooding in Bafra district of  Samsun.



Tropical Depression Seven
-Two killed other two reported to be missing in Trinidad as a tropical wave lashed the eastern Caribbean with heavy rains and wind.
-Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar declared Diego Martin a disaster area and said the government has opened two shelters.

Flash floods in Beni, Nepal
-Several houses in Campus Chowk in Beni (Myagdi) flooded.
-Flood water entered from the Anprukh section of the Beni-Pakhapani road and affect more than 75 houses.

Storms in Southern New England
-Storms in southern New England downed trees and power lines and also caused minor street flooding.
-About 17,000 customers were without power in Connecticut and 14,000 in southeastern Massachusetts, most in Plymouth County.

Tropical Cyclone Gilma
-As of 01:00 UTC, TC Gilma was located 1125 km W of the southern tip of Baja California.
-Gilma is moving toward the northwest at 6 mph.   

Tropical Storm Hector
-As of 01:00 UTC, TS Hector was located 405 km W of Manzanillo, Mexico and 305 km E of Socorro island.
-Hector is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph.
Tropical Depression Helen
-Tropical depression Helen is forecast to bring widespread rains over Bicol region of Philippines.
-Helen is expected to be 590 kilometers east northeast of Tuguegarao, Cagayan by Monday evening.

Tornadoes in Wilson, North Carolina
-At least seven houses damaged in possible tornadoes in Wilson county of North Carolina.
-Storms caused heavy damage in Stantonsburg.

Tornado in Tylertown, USA
-Tornado destroyed several building and also caused damage at the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary in Tylertown, State of Mississippi.

Massive cyclone in central Arctic ocean
-A massive cyclone blew over the central Arctic Ocean this past week, north of the Beaufort Sea.
-Cyclones are common at this time of year, but this week's storm was stronger than any other recorded.
-Scientists believe the cyclone is causing Arctic sea ice to melt faster this year. About 600,000 square kilometres of sea ice was lost in the central Arctic in the last week.

Lightning in Bangladesh
-At least 13 killed and 15 injured when lightning struck a mosque in a remote village in Bangladesh.
-Disaster occurred as people were holding special Ramadan prayers.
-The strike occurred in Saraswati, some 200 kilometers from the capital of Dhaka.

Popocatepetl, Fuego, Etna, Erta Ale, Nyiragongo, Ol Doinyo Lengai, Sakurajima, Shiveluch, Yasurm, Ulawun, Manam, Batu Tara, Semeru, Fuego, Tongariro (NZ)  and Villarrica volcano.
