Bones found in cemetery 19th February 2012

What appear to be human bones have emerged from old graves in a Christchurch cemetery.

The bones were discovered by a pair of women going for a walk this afternoon and the Christchurch City Council says it is the first case of human remains coming to the surface they have heard of since the earthquakes began.

I have seen this on tv never seen anything like it before.

Will go and check our local one down the road as a pretty old one and some of the headstones are damaged and still roped off from Sept 2010/

Seems it turned out they weren't human remains thank goodness, but they didn't say what the bones were from (TV3 the following day)
