Correct my rain recording for the day
« on: July 16, 2012, 08:37:20 PM »
How do I correct my rain reading/record for the day. Some moisture got onto the reed switch points and racked up 671.6mm for the day.

Luckily I had looked at is shortly before this happened and it should only be 8.9mm.

Hi there

What Weather software are you using.  If Cumulus then i may be able to assist you as I have had to do similar on mine to remove temperature spikes.

Kind Regards

I'm not sure how to fix the graphs, but to reset your totals, go to Control panel -> Offsets & Initial Rain -> Temp/Baro Offsets / Rain Totals.
Here you can set daily, monthly, yearly rain totals

Try control panel
click on offsets/initial Rain,
click on Temp/Baro/ OFFsets/Rain Totals.
go down to Adjust All RainFall Totals By This Amount Only.
Put the amount you want to adjust by in blank box with a - in front.IE -662.7
Then click SET.
Then click YES to save the seting.

Hope this helps.

Thanks..I think that may have done it. I had to reset my rain rate records though. WD made a backup of the readings before I reset the rates. Wonder if there is a way to correct the rain and the rain rates another way. But the way I have done it..will have to do for now.

you set the needed correct rain total under control panel
offsets and initial rainfall setup

simple as that

you can also use the control panel, graph setup, graph correct, to remove the bad rain data from the graph (which then flows through to the data )
you can also reset the record rain rate
then if your logfiles are OK, get WD to re check for rain rate records, via action, convert logfiles to data files, tick, convert all

this question gets asked alot and there are lots of threads on the WD forum for how to do all this
and some FAQs too

I tell you what,

surprised at some of the comments here...some not very helpfull...
