Author Topic: Weather Cam photo not uploading to website (Read 8206 times)

Finally trying to get my camera back in action. I am using a Canon camera and Canon's remote capture to create the photos and the webcam tab in ftp/internet setup to upload the photo. I have not used this for over a year but ensured all the settings matched what I had documented when I first set this up

Everything is setup I believe and the ftp log is trying to upload it but does not succeed. The log does not give me enough information as to why it may not be uploading (see details below). The daily upload worked this morning and all the files were uploaded so there appears to be no problems with the ftp connectivity. The file definitely exists as I went back and reselected it in the webcam upload tab and it is 36kb in size and I can open and view it. I have restarted WD and rebooted the PC. I have changed the file to another file and still no joy. Any suggestions? The test upload does not work on the webcam tab either...have I missed a setting somewhere?

If you are not trying to add an overlay then you can use the General Grouped FTP and setup FTP from there. It just treats a jpg file as a any other file. There are three setups available, the first two can have a different url to the normal website. The third is fixed to the standard url.

- the photo should now update every 5 minutes. Shame there is thick mist outside today, although it is clearing.

you should be able to use the web cam setup in the FTP/internet setup
make sure to add the file to the list to upload and tick, upload these files

That is what I had done. In fact you do virtually the same steps on the general grouped ftp tab which did work. The ftp log did indicate that it new it needed to upload the file but it did not upload it. I am not worried about it as I have a solution that works.
