Dark still but stars are visible so it's pretty clear - not as cold as yesterday morning, our low looks like it's going to be 3.9°C at 4.50 am.  Currently up to 4.4°C and my forecast high is 12°C again.

Interesting, while not as cold at our place (around 140 m elevation, and plenty of bush surrounding us), it was 1°C colder than yesterday through the valley - the outside temperature sensor on the car got down to read 0°C this morning, and stayed there a long time - plenty of frost in the paddocks and cars parked were well iced up.

Tokoroa - another clear light frosty morning.  An overnight low of -0.9ºC with a partly cloudy night, temps bumped up and down a bit.  Breeze is a 0~7km/hr sou-easter.  Some thin low cloud in places to burn off.

Today's high in Waitakere looks like it'll be 15.6 deg C - pretty good. It's beautiful and sunny still but sadly about to go down below the tree line. Current temperature is 14.1 deg C.
Still, can't complain, my weekend has started and I do have a cold beer to enjoy. :)

A clear evening in Waitakere, just following on from a really perfect winter day.  High was indeed 15.6°C here just before 1 pm, its dropped now to 7.4°C but is likely not to be such a cold night. Could be the odd shower tomorrow to spoil things.

A lovely day wasn't it! Not quite as cool as yesterday either. Clear skies, but some wispy high cloud appeared to the E and NE during the afternoon. Max temp here was 14.9°C, down to 7.8°C at the moment

Thursday's national forecast

An increasing southerly flow will bring precipitation to the lower and eastern South Island today as well as the lower North Island.

Most of the precipitation will fall in the form of rain.  However, some snow is possible in higher elevations.  For Canterbury, snow flurries may be seen down to 600m this morning and then lowering to 200m late this afternoon.

Dry conditions are expected for the West Coast of the South Island, as well as much of the North Island except Wellington and Wairarapa.

Temperatures this afternoon will top out in the mid teens about the North Island as well as the West Coast.  Highs will range from 7 to 11 for the rest of the South Island.

Settled for many this morn.

There appears to be a similar weather pattern holding up and it is likely to last into the weekend.

Southerlies on our eastern side are set to deliver coolish temperatures again today although dry conditions are likely for many areas from Gisborne down to Otago however the showers might pop in tonight with the snow level dropping for a time.

Peter from Dunedin has said the weather looks bright there this morning and a much more settled day is expected than was previously forecast but the chance of showers returning to Dunedin and the far south is likely tonight.

West still appears in good shape and plenty of the sunshine is expected there and the same applies for the North Island and northern areas as well.

There's a chance of frosts tonight in sheltered areas in western and inland areas and tomorrow is likely to see another mostly sunny day.

Warmest areas are expected to be over the west and north of the North Island but it's not set to be overly warm however behind glass or away from the breeze it's likely to be quite pleasant.
