Metservice.comFriday and Saturday look as though they will be chilly as a pool of cooler air pushes in overnight and tomorrow dropping daytime highs to the low double digits for many South Island centres predicts
WeatherWatch.co.nz.Southland, Otago and Canterbury will all struggle to make it into the teens on Friday with low teen highs expected on Saturday.
Sunday looks significantly warmer thanks to strong to gale force nor'wester which could push highs into the late teens, possibly 20 for some inland areas.
But make the most of Sunday's warmth - a much colder change is coming.
It will arrive on Monday bringing snow to a few hundred metres in the Deep South and potentially down to 400 metres on Banks Peninsula and a high of just 7 for Christchurch.
The cold change will be short lived though. In true Autumn style sunnier and slightly warmer weather should return for many areas on Tuesday and Wednesday but watch out for overnight lows which could produce heavy frosts and potentially black ice.
