Vendor announces all-in-one Mobile Companion (DIR-505)

D-Link has announced the launch of the all-in-one Mobile Companion (DIR-505), a new product aimed at travellers and mobile device owners.

The new device, which is about the size of a mobile phone charger, has the features of a standard wireless router and allows users to deploy a wireless network wherever an existing network is available. It also includes USB sharing capabilities.

“We listened closely to the needs of travellers and mobile device owners who are looking for a versatile wireless networking device that is both compact and easy to install,” says Maurice Famularo, marketing director, D-Link Australia and New Zealand. “Considering its size and versatility, the All-in-one Mobile Companion is like the ‘Swiss army knife’ of wireless devices, packing an assortment of wireless networking capabilities into a single device small enough to fit inside a pocket or laptop bag.”

The all-in-one device servers as a wireless N150 travel router, access point, wireless hotspot, wireless range extender or bridge, and 10/100 Ethernet port. It includs a built-in AC plug so no additional cables or power adapters are required.

D-Link is distributed in New Zealand by Synnex, Ingram Micro, and Dove Electronics.
