Where have you got the 5.8 from please?
From here, http://greylynnweather.net/dailyhighlowbaroetc.gif

Thanks David.
That 5.8 was from his yesterday data.  The list at the top is from today.

But it did grab Ohauiti incorrect so I will need to run the script a few times and cross check the data before summarising I think.

The 5.8 was at 3:54am this morning Jenny - today not yesterday! His station resets at 9am but the script hasn't picked up on that.

A few months ago when I looked at how to report station data I was advised by a few that most stations now roll over at midnight.
I was told that way back ( before my time of course ) farmers would reset their rain gauges at 9.00am as opposed to crawling out of bed at midnight to do it.
With the invent of PCs and automation 12.00pm became the more acceptable time to roll over as this was actually the true time for the start of a new day and not 9.00am.
Hence rainfall for the day was just that.
So with that I have based everything on a midnight roll over.
From what I can see we only have 2 out of 56 that roll over at 9.00am but I am now going to check on each web site to make doubly sure.
Cheers

then its hard to compare with historical data
also night time does not start at midnight, so a midnight reset is not perfect either

is it just Ricky and I still using 9am reset then you mean?
I guess I could join the masses and use midnight reset

re the yesterday data thing, I could WD to upload a simple text based page for yesterdays hi low data
(to save a custom web page template file needed to be created (actualy I could base it on one already in use, and just have it update auto via a one tick setting in wd)

Answering Mr Weather Display's question 20th May
« Reply #32 on: May 21, 2012, 09:17:30 PM »
Sorry I have only just found this. Yes just Ricky now but I think one of the men are going to touch base with him. Its ok though I still have around 9 to do manually.

re the yesterday data. We needed to find a common ground between CU and WD. The only common ground was the daily realtime and clientraw. These are already being uploaded by all for the Forum Map so hence it means our members do not have to do anything. Since at last count we now have 58 contributing that is a plus for me.  I have already annoyed everyone with the Map I did not want to annoy them further :)
It also means on the fly we can have a set of real time figures as with heavy rainfall. So using these files has given us many options during the day and not just yesterdays data.
Hope that makes sense.
Cheers

I was more thinking of when people post there yesterday hi/lo in the yesterday hi/lo thread
but I guess WD users can copy that from the daily av/ext reports for yesterday
(e.g May2012.htm)

I mentioned the midnight reset thing to Ricky today

Yes thats where I have been collecting the data from plus the wx yesterday page I made.
Many have made a page with just the 10 values on it and have it processed and uploaded  separate in both WD and CU. Then you can just copy and paste over as you say.
I have no doubt if you wish to add this feature it would make it much easier for many on this forum and other forums.
Cheers.

thats what I was thinking...i.e if someone already has a nice template file (with the custom tags in it) then I could use that as the basis, and get that auto updated and uploaded with a one tick setting (once you knew where to find it (I will bury it deep in the program were no will remember where it was after they set it  :P)

On the list of Met Service temperatures (above) New Plymouth was listed as 15. The correct Met Service figure should have been 16.
