Weather Tutorials
« on: February 05, 2023, 11:29:56 AM »
Greetings!

I am Thomas, a weather enthusiast from Weather Updates NZ.

My love for weather has inspired me to dive deeper into the subject and enhance my skills in reading weather maps and making predictions. & Reports for NZ

Do any of you have suggestions for tutorials that could guide me in this journey? I have all the resources I need, eg met service, meteologix, etc

I just need a helping hand to point me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance,

Thomas

As for me i just learn as you go. :)

Do you have a weather station?.
If so you can post your daily readings here and also join us on the map.
Just contact JennyLeez from the members tap.

Hi Thomas,

Do you have a weather station. If not this would be where I would start.
This way you will get the feel of your own data by doing summaries such as weekly, monthly yearly and probably more useful for you Seasonal.
You should start to see data patterns to help predictions along with MSM maps.

We have a members map. However with the latest stations feeding straight into their wifi and not up to a server we can access, members are slowly fading away.
The link is on the top menu.

If you do wish to upload your own station data to a server so our map plus Data Summary can access it, let us know. We can help with this, mainly as to which stations to research.

People, this is where we miss Rwood. He would have been able to help here for sure :)

Thomas, Rwood was an extreme weather enthusiast always willing to help others. He has furnished this forum with years of historic weather across New Zealand. Data I doubt you would find anywhere else. Sadly we lost Mr Wood but he will always be remembered :)

Cheers now
