Rain clearing and becoming fine overnight tonight. Strong south easterlies, easing tomorrow morning.

Auckland to Wellington, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Mainly fine, but a few cloudy periods from Taranaki southwards.

Gisborne to Wairarapa
Cloudy with showers in Hawkes Bay and Gisborne. Cloudy periods in Wairarapa. Becoming fine in Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay tomorrow.

Marlborough
Fine, apart from areas of cloud about the coast, clearing tonight.

Nelson and Buller to Fiordland
Fine, but cloudy periods with isolated showers developing from Buller to Fiordland tomorrow.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Fine with overnight and morning frosts. Low cloud or fog persisting in some valleys.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy, with a few light showers.
