Northland to Waikato, also Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Showers, clearing tomorrow and becoming mostly fine.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Cloudy periods, with showers about the ranges, gradually clearing and becoming fine tomorrow.

Waitomo to Manawatu, including the central high country
Showers today. Cloudy periods tomorrow, but some showers remaining about the ranges.

Horowhenua to Wellington and Wairarapa, also Marlborough and Canterbury
Areas of low cloud, with periods of rain, heavy about the Kaikoura Range today, easing and retreating to Wairarapa in the morning and clearing elsewhere.

Nelson
Rain clearing this evening and becoming fine.

Buller and Westland
Mainly fine, however a few showers north of Hokitika tomorrow.

Otago
Areas of cloud and patchy drizzle near the coast but fine inland, apart from some areas of low cloud.

Southland and Fiordland
Fine, apart from some areas of low cloud or fog in sheltered valleys.

Chatham Islands
Rain at times.
