Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Scattered rain clearing this morning and becoming fine.

Waikato to Manawatu, also the central high country
Cloudy periods. A few showers developing this afternoon.

Horowhenua Kapiti Coast, Wellington and Wairarapa, also Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Mainly fine.

Buller and Westland
Periods of showers, heavy at times and possibly thundery with small hail in Westland.

Fiordland and coastal Southland
Occasional rain, heavy and thundery at times. Snow lowering to 200 metres this evening.

Inland Southland and Otago
Scattered showers clearing early, but returning this afternoon, with snow lowering to 300 metres this evening.
