Mainly fine. However, a few showers, becoming confined to western Northland this morning.

Waikato to the Kapiti Coast, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, and the central high country
A fine day ahead, with morning frosts in sheltered places.

Gisborne to Wairarapa, also Wellington
Fine spells. However, a few showers mainly about coastal areas.

Marlborough, Nelson, Buller, Westland, Canterbury, also North and Central Otago
Fine in most places with morning frosts, but showers continuing about Banks Peninsula until afternoon with snow to 400 metres.

Dunedin, Clutha, Southland and Fiordland
Scattered showers, with snow to 500 metres, clearing this morning and becoming fine.
