Weekend Forecast 10th - 11th March 2012
« on: March 09, 2012, 11:42:42 AM »
Showers look to dampen the last half of the weekend.
It still looks like Sunday and Monday could be pretty wet days for much of New Zealand.

A disturbance moving across the Tasman should bring some showers and maybe even a bit of thunder to the country.

Southland, Otago, the West coast, Bay of Plenty and Northland could all see the showers move in as early as Sunday afternoon.  The best chance will be found along the southern West Coast, Southland and Otago.

By the time we get to Sunday evening, everyone will have a chance for showers.  Auckland could even be rumbled by bit of thunder early Sunday evening.   However, it still looks like the best chance for actually seeing showers will across much of the South Island.

On Monday, rain chances will start to ease a bit for the lower South Island.  The rest of the country still looks pretty wet.  In fact, some heavier falls are possible for the southern North Island.

The showers should clear New Zealand by late Tuesday morning.
