Central North Island, Waikato, Auckland & Northland
Showers now and then, especially afternoon north of the Waikato with a risk of hail. A few sunny spells at times. Showers clear in the evening. Gusty west to southwest winds.

Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy periods with sunny breaks at times, brisk westerly winds. There may be a brief showers in the afternoon otherwise expect a mainly dry day.

Eastern North Island
Brisk westerly winds, mostly sunny with some cloud at times.

Western North Island
Showers with strong gusty westerly winds, winds tend a little more southwest about northern Taranaki. A few sunny spells may sneak through at times.

Sunny spells and some cloud, brisk northwesterly winds.

Nelson
A few early showers clear then expect sunny spells and some cloud with brisk southwesterly winds, southwesterlies ease in the evening.

Early morning rain eases to showers, brisk west to southwest winds. Rain moves in again at night.

A strong westerly flow covering central New Zealand today is slowly easing. Gale westerly winds over the lower North Island, with gusts of 120 km/h possible in exposed parts of Hawkes Bay south of Napier and Wairarapa north of Masterton, are expected to ease this afternoon.
Rain spreading across NZ as Te Puke has posted above.
