Calm, Dull, not much else to say

Port Robinson, North Canterbury 8.35am

Partly cloudy, sunny at times. Temperature only 9.4° after a low of 6.9° which is the coldest for some time. Expecting a high of just 14° with rain possibly later. 2.2mm of rain over the past 24hrs. Wind from the SW with the max gust in the last hour of 11kmh.

Light steady rain here in Napier from 0530 this morning, with a few very brief slightly heavier bursts at 0600 and 0730. Rainfall rate has eased off in the last 5 mins but still drizzling. Total rainfall thus far 9.8mm, with 2.1mm in the last hour. Good for the lawns and gardens - but not a drought-breaker. This is our first decent-ish rain in a month, since 5 Feb when we got 12.9mm.

Update at noon: still alternating spells of light rain and drizzle. Total for today now up to a whole 15.0mm! Temperature starting to dip as the colder air makes its presence felt - expecting a partial clearance to showers and fine intervals in the next 2 hours or so.

We're still having these nasty, gusty winds from the NW, bringing down the 'feels-like' temperatures to - 5 C......

In contrast with the past winter, when Calgary and the Prairies had extreme cold weather, it's interesting to see how things can quickly shift around the 2nd largest country in the World...!!!
While Winter was 'reasonable' in Ontario, other provinces suffered constantly with temperatures of - 20 to - 30 C.......
Yesterday, Calgary had + 18 C, while we still see Winter-like (Feb) temperatures of - 5 (apparent  -10 C) in Toronto.. 
Hopefully it will soon be over, and Spring will finally be here..
